The Ken Marley Trio was formed in 1997 in order to play and record original compositions.
The original members were:
- Ken Marley - acoustic double bass
- Richard Wetherall - piano
- Matt Home - drums
The trio are Yorkshire and Humberside Arts artists in residence.
In 2002 the trio began to perform a tribute to Benny Carter with Al Wood.
